Margaret Kenyatta, the First Lady, gives Rachel Ruto a tour of State House.

On Monday, while President Uhuru Kenyatta was meeting with President-Elect William Ruto, their wives Margaret and Rachel were touring the House.

The outgoing first couple hosted Ruto and Rachel at State House in the afternoon as part of the transition process ahead of Tuesday's inauguration.

Margaret had the honor of showing Rachel around the sprawling residence, taking her from one room to the next as the outgoing First Lady.

The two took a walk around the house, beginning with the upstairs, which will house Rachel's new office and a visitor's lounge.

Rachel also met with some of Margaret's staff, who has remained in State House since Uhuru's election in 2013. The two also went on a tour of the House on the Hill, the official residence of the First Family.
