Low performance among KCSE class of 2022 candidates

On Friday, Form Four national exam results from 2022 were revealed by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu.
Mr. Machogu briefed President William Ruto at State House in Nairobi and then made the announcement to the public.
The education minister revealed that 173,345 candidates achieved C+ and above. There were 1,146 qualifying candidates.
He reported from the Kenya National Examinations Council's offices on Dennis Pritt Road.
Over 489,081 people tried out for the job, and they all got a grade of D or lower. There were a total of 881,416 pupils that sat for the KCSE in 2022, so this represents 55.8 percent of them.
According to CS Machogu's announcement, there were 167,758 candidates who had a grade of D or lower.
The number of candidates that earned D was 155,480, while 135,021 candidates scored D plus.
