Job Description/Requirements

The Institute of Certified Secretaries (ICS) is a Professional Membership Association established by an Act of Parliament, the Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya, Cap. 534 of the Laws of Kenya. The core mandate of the Institute is to promote the practice of good governance in both the private and public sectors. ICS has over the years been involved in various initiatives including research, publication, capacity building and advisory services in the area of governance. It is against this background that ICS is seeking to enhance its internal capacity by recruiting three staff members as follows:


TRAINING AND CONSULTANCY OFFICER


11 Job Purpose:

The Training and Consultancy Officer is responsible of coordinating Continuous Development Programs for members as well external training and consultancy assignments.


1.2 Key Result Areas:

a) Contribute to the development and implementation of training and consultancy strategy, methodology, programs and curriculum

b) Manage Continuous Development (CPD) programs calendar

c) Develop and review training course materials based on industry trends

d) Conduct training needs analysis of target audience, and collaborate with subject matter experts to develop, validate and agree on accurate and appropriate training content.

e) Support in the development and implementation of E-Learning services at the institute.

f) Manage the marketing of the training, development and consultancy programs

g) Develop and market customised (in house) trainings programmes for target organisations and any other third parties as per request

h) Manage and coordinate the logistics, systems and facilitators relationships for training programs.

i) Measure the effectiveness of training programs and advise on continuous improvements

j) Prepare and monitor training and consultancy budgets

k) Manage training and consultancy records and reports

l) Prepare bids, tender documents and proposals for consultancy assignments

m) Pursue opportunities and networks that may lead to expansion and new business.

n) Design and implement the strategy for optimising revenue from existing sources, and new sources of non-dues income, that advance the Institute’s mandate and meet revenue goals.


1.3 Job Specification/Requirements


a) Educational/Professional Qualification:

(i) Bachelor degree in Education, Training, HR or related field from a recognised institution.

(ii) Master’s degree will be an added advantage

(iii) Membership with the Institute of Certified Secretaries will be an added advantage


b) Experience:

(i) Minimum 3 relevant work experience

(ii) Experience as a facilitator will be an added advantage


c) Others

(i) Proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, advanced Excel)


d) Competencies:

(i) Possess strong communication and customer service skills.

(ii) Strong ability to gain buy in and influence others

(iii) Develop and maintain collaborative relationships

(iv) Ability to meet goals with minimal supervision and a good business sense

(v) Result oriented, ensures that key objectives are met

(vi) Attention to detail

(vii) Excellent communication, facilitation and presentation skills
